Nov 2011 - Sibylle´s Apartment

My wife, teenage daughter, two small children, and I stayed at this lovely apartment in late November '11. The owners are fabulous and were very responsive (showed up right away to help us get the wireless internet working). The house was well supplied with all of the ammenities necessary for our stay. We enjoyed the kitchen and even cooked a traditional Yankee Thanksgiving feast.

The location is perfect. We did not need a car. Groceries are close by, as well as restaurants, clubs, shops and walks along the sea front.

 

August 2011 - Reykjavik Apartment

We rented your apartment over this past weekend and just wanted to say thank you very much for your hospitality. We loved the apartment and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Iceland, so much so that we are planning to return again next summer for a longer trip!  I trust that you found everything was in proper order.

And the kids wanted to say thank you for letting them jump on your trampoline!

August 2011 - Town Apartment

We rented the apartment, me and my family and my parents, it was perfect for us, close to the supermarked (two actually) and a short walk to the center, we had excelent food at the Fish Company and the kids loved the Hamburger joint on the harbour.

 

14. June 2011 - Town House

I wanted to let you know how happy we were with the townhouse.  It was well suited to our needs and my children were sorry to leave and had grown attached to its sense of home.

Cant think of a better location of a vacation house, it´s right in the center. My husband and I with our 3 children had a lovely time, the owner was welcoming and gave us lots of tips regarding things to see and do in Reykjavik. When, not if, we return to Iceland we will definitely want to stay here again.

We really enjoyed the Centre 101 apartment, ist was clean, quiet and in a superb location.
We stayed there 4 girls together and had a really good time in Reykjavik.

13. March 2011- Luxury Apartment

Best of everything in walking distance of all points of interest

Our family including my husband and mother and father really researched options for our stay in Reykjavik. We are thrilled we found this place! It is top notch on every level: right on the main drag in the city, comfortable, clean, elegant, and well-equipped space, with an outstanding family managing reservations and events.

We had the added bonus of working with the family to organize our trips pony trekking and exploring the country, which was fun, informative, and made the whole trip excellent. You won't find a nicer and more informed host (Sjonni is a well-traveled mountaineering guide and expert), and the fee is more than reasonable comparatively.

 

13.March 2011- Luxury Apartment

great vacation!

Along with our daughter and her husband, we stayed in Jenny and Sjonni's spacious, well-equiped, afforable apartment located in a very convenient part of town. They gave us their phone numbers and encouraged us to call them if we needed anything. They also offer very interesting, affordable and informative tours. Sjonni, who is a trained mountain guide and is very congenial, drove us around to the places we wanted to see. We would certainly stay in one of their apartments if we visited Iceland again and highly recommend their apartments to anyone visiting Reykjavik.

 

24.02.2011 - Town House

Thank you, we had an absolutely wonderful time. We went diving at Silfra, did a golden circle superjeep tour, went snowmobiling and went to the blue lagoon. We also ate at the 3 Frenchmen and had a great night out on Saturday. I don't think we did much sleeping!

The house was absolutely perfect for the group, and we'll ahve very fond memories of it.

A very cozy apartment

We stayed with our 7 year old daughter in this very nice apartment, we took the Fly bus from the airport and could walk to the apartment.  It had everything we needed, the walk to town was only about 2o min.  I recomend the latte at the cofffee house in the park!

11.1.2011- Town House

"Unforgettable New Years in Reykjavik"

We were a group of 6 adults spending just a few days in Reykjavik to clebrate the New Year. We had an amzing stay and much of it is due ot the location of the Townhouse. Only a few blocks from downtown we were able to walk to shops, restaruants, bars and tour package pick ups. The kitchen/living room is so roomy and comfortable. As for sleeping arrangements there were more than enough beds. There is only one bathroom with shower/bath facilities, but even for 6 adults we had no issues. The townhouse was great and we are already considering a trip back.

A great apartment!  Very good location, close to the sea ( I love the sea) and also only 15 min walk to the centre.  The double bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had all we needed.

Wonderful stay - wonderful location - would stay again

Where to start - the apartment is immaculate - super stylish and very warm - all the amenities I need when I travel like a kitchen - great 2 baths master bedroom and patio to entertain guest or enjoy the weather. They owners were extremely flexible and accommodating! Made our trip with top of the line service

We have been really enjoying the luxury of staying in this wonderful apartment.
What a great location... we even met Monique in the stairwell !
We dont want to leave ... this apartment is so homely.
But unfortunately we will have to survive in hotels upcountry for the next 3 nights

4.8.2010 - Centre 101 Apartment

Hi Jenny,

entschuldige bitte, dass ich jetzt erst antworte. Wir sind gestern von unserer Reise zurückgekehrt; die mails zu dieser Adresse habe ich leider zwischendurch nicht gelesen.
Wegen des Balkons haben wir uns ja mit Tinna einigen können; sie hat uns einen kleinen Nachlass gewährt. Es war wirklich unglücklich so, aber es war für uns ein wichtiger Grund, das Appartment zu buchen, weil ein Balkon vorhanden war. Danach hatte ich ja extra noch gefragt und offenbar wurde dir diese Info auch so weitergetragen. Ich hoffe, du hast dadurch keine Unannehmlichkeiten gehabt.
Insgesamt hat es uns in dem Appartment trotzdem sehr gut gefallen und auch die Lautstärke durch die Straße war kein Problem. Dennoch war es gut, dass du extra darauf hingewiesen hast, so gab es diesbezüglich keine Überraschung. Eure Betreuung empfanden wir absolut super und vorbildlich!! Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, ein positives Feedback im Internet zu äußern? Dann würde ich das sehr gerne machen ....

29.7.2010 - Benni´s Apartment

Benni´s Apartment was great : ) Very nice and warm and Benjamin's partner was very welcoming and showed us around and explained things that needed explaining which was great. Couldn't work out how to use the TV and we just guessed what to do when it came to the washing machine (we couldn't read the icelandic!). Very central, comfortable and had everything we needed.
We had a great time in Iceland and thank you again for your assistance. I hope they find the keys :)

16.6.2010 - Town House

Dear Jenny, Just wanted you to know that both my families arrived home safe and sound and tired from our wonderful holiday in Iceland.   It was such a great time,very easy, exciting and so interesting because of all your help.  

The taxi that took us to the Blue Lagoon was great, the driver ended up letting us stay two hours at the Lagoon and then took less money than you had told us about, he said it would be "robbery" to charge us any more.   So that was a great ending to your amazing country.

Once again, thanks for all your help and suggestions.  Perhaps one day we will meet again.

Hallo Jenny,

hoffe du hattest eine sonnige Zeit im Süden und bist wieder gut angekommen. Wir hatten es auf jeden Fall sehr sonnig (in jeder Beziehung) und haben die Zeit auf Island sehr genossen, auch wenn es für uns mit Arbeit verbunden war. (Wir waren diesmal für Fotos für Outdoor-Bekleidung unterwegs).

Ein dickes DANKESCHÖN nochmal für euer Haus, wir haben uns alle sehr wohl gefühlt - und ich hoffe wir haben alles o.k hinterlassen.

Ganz besonders freut mich das Buch mit den tollen Fotos deines Vaters, ich hatte sie auch schon auf früheren Islandreisen sehr bewundert, vielen Dank!

21.10.2009 - Apartment with a View

I'm just back from a wonderful week in Iceland. This was my first trip there and I travelled with my wife and two kids (10 & 8). after a few deliberations, I decided that an apartment would be best. It would allow us to spread out, have space to relax and allow some cheap meals! (the latter only figured in breakfasts, one late return pizza night and a lunch or two.)

I started looking at holiday-rentals.co.uk - it was a useful way to ping availability queries to a lot of people quickly. In getting a knock-back for one apartment, I was offered another by www.rentinreykjavik.com

This was a real blessing - Jenny from RiR was fantastic - really quick replies to my random queries. She bent over backwards to make the deposit paying work for me. I ended up with the Apartment with a View. What an understatement! This was a lovely, large, airy apartment bang on Tjornin (right across from Radhus). The owner Hugi again was a pleasure to deal with - e.g. organising car parking right across the street for a nominal fee. I've rented a few apartments in my time and I was really impressed with the standard of fixtures and fittings here. It had everything you need (but don't want to pack) - from dishwasher tablets, thru cooking oil to sellotape!

6.7.2009 - Luxury Apartment

Just writing to say thanks for the opportunity to stay in such a beautiful apartment in Reykjavik, the location was fantastic, and the apartment itself really lovely.  We even had the opportunity to enjoy the terrace on Friday morning as the sun was shining.  Will definately recommend this apartment to anyone we know travelling to Reykjavik. 

Thanks for the recommendation of the Tapas Bar which was really good.
